Our professional photographer Joseph Rudinec will be available at Witches’ Ball to capture the glory of the evening and take portrait pictures of you and your loved ones, or get a group shot of you and your “fellow practitioners”.

Joseph can take your requests, perhaps put together a unique album of the Ball including portrait and candid shots. There will be no charge until you see your images and make a decision as to which to have as keepsakes, either on digital media or professional large format prints of your portrait shots.

The Munroe Falls Paranormal Society

The Munroe Falls Paranormal Society (MFPS) is a non-profit group of Paranormal Investigators and Researchers based in Munroe Falls, Ohio just outside of Akron. With a collective team experience of 50+ years in paranormal research and investigation, the MFPS team brings together a professional approach to solving paranormal phenomena. The group was formed with the initiative to seek the truth behind many types of paranormal phenomena. MFPS takes a scientific approach to all claims of the paranormal with the intent of assisting the client by researching, documenting, validating, educating and counseling throughout the investigation process. The Origin of Rudolph

It was 1939. A fellow named Bob May, depressed and brokenhearted, stared out his drafty apartment window into the chilling December night. His 4-year-old daughter, Barbara, sat on his lap quietly sobbing. Bob’s wife, Evelyn, was dying of cancer. Little Barbara couldn’t understand why her mommy could never come home. Barbara looked up into her dads
eyes and asked, “Why isn’t Mommy just like everybody else’s Mommy?” Bob’s jaw tightened and his eyes welled with tears. Her question brought waves of grief, but also of anger. It had been the story of Bob’s life. Life always had to be different for Bob. Being small when he was a kid, Bob was often bullied by other boys. He was too little at the time to compete in sports. He was often called names he’d rather not remember.

From childhood, Bob was different and never seemed to fit in. Bob did complete college, married his loving wife and was grateful to get his job as a copywriter at Montgomery Ward during the Great Depression. Then he was blessed with his little girl. But it was all short-lived. Evelyn’s bout with cancer stripped them of all their savings and now Bob and his daughter were forced to live in a two-room apartment in the Chicago slums. Evelyn died just days before Christmas in 1938. Bob struggled to give hope to his child, for whom he couldn’t even afford to buy a Christmas gift. But if he couldn’t buy a gift, he was determined a make one – a storybook!

Bob had created an animal character in his own mind and told the animal’s story to little Barbara to give her comfort and hope. Again and again Bob told the story, embellishing it more with each telling. Who was the character? What was the story all about? The story Bob May created was his own autobiography in fable form. The character he created was a misfit outcast like he was. The name of the character? A little reindeer named Rudolph, with a big shiny nose.

Bob finished the book just in time to give it to his little girl on Christmas Day. But the story doesn’t end there. The general manager of Montgomery Ward caught wind of the little storybook and offered Bob May a nominal fee to purchase the rights to print the book. Wards went on to print Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and distribute it to children visiting Santa Claus in their stores. By 1946 Wards had printed and distributed more than six million copies of Rudolph. That same year, a major publisher wanted to purchase the rights from Wards to print an updated version of the book. In an unprecedented gesture of kindness, the CEO of Wards returned all rights back to Bob May. The book became a best seller. A TV special, narrated by Burl Ives, was produced in 1964, and remains an annual holiday favorite. Many toy and marketing deals followed and Bob May, now remarried with a growing family, became wealthy from the story he created to comfort his grieving daughter.

But the story doesn’t end there either. Bob’s brother-in-law, Johnny Marks, made a song adaptation to Rudolph. Though the song was turned down by such popular vocalists as Bing Crosby and Dinah Shore , it was recorded by the singing cowboy, Gene Autry. “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” was released in 1949 and became a phenomenal success, selling more records than any other Christmas song, with the exception of “White Christmas.” The gift of love that Bob May created for his daughter so long ago kept on returning to bless him again and again. And Bob May learned the lesson, just like his dear friend Rudolph, that being different isn’t so bad. In fact, being different can be a blessing!

Should we be worried about 2012?

The answer about the Baktun is correct: a Baktun is a measure of time equal roughly to a thousand gross of days. However, there is no 14th Baktun, Baktuns renumber at the beginning of a larger cycle, called a “World Age” (think our millenium) which ironically also ends on Dec 21, 2012. The Mayan long calendar would number this day 0.0.0.0.0. This “World Age” in which we have been living is characterized by male energy. The upcoming one is conversely female. A time of great transition awaits. . . In addition, and even larger cycle ends on that day. The larger cycle that concludes simultaneously is an approximately 26,000 year cycle, which actually encompasses five World Ages or Suns (A metaphor would be if we had a name for a 10 millenia period). We’re in the fifth and last of the World cycles that began in 24,000 BC. David Wilcock explains in his “2012 Enigma,” the “Time Spiral” of Russian scientist Sergey Smelyakov . Imagine you are walking the turns of a Nautilus shell with 2012 at the very center. Every time you pass the horn of the shell, it’s what Wilcox calls a “wave front” corresponding to the Mayan “World Age” divided by the golden ratio which is characterized by the Greek letter phi. Wave fronts fall on certain dates. What Smelyakov discovered (confirmed by Terrence McKenna in Timewave Zero and Gregg Braden in Fractal TIme) is that very very significant changes happen on the planet, and to our consciousness, on those dates which correspond to wave fronts. One in 1991 corresponded to the fall of the Soviet Empire. Again in 2003, the wave front was days before Bush invaded Iraq, and corresponded to a protest gathering of three million people in Rome, which is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest ever anti-war rally. As we head into 2010 and 2011, the turns of the spiral are shorter, and come ever quicker. We’re going to have wave fronts every couple of months, then every couple of weeks and eventually daily. We need Warriors, without a doubt — but not for the end of the world — but who can handle the evolutionary intensity of the changes about to take place. So: Yes, we went through these big changes other times in Earth history and No, the world didn’t end. No, don’t max out your credit cards prior to 2012 Yes, live in your highest self. Treasure and cherish every sacred moment. No, don’t buy a vacation house in Florida anytime soon. Yes, on Dec 22nd, 2012, the sun will rise and shine down on a “Brave new world that has such people in it!” Some of those people will be you and I, better and more evolved in ways that we can’t anticipate now. In addition to her evening belly-dance performance, Yasmine will provide an interactive workshop at 4:00 PM at Witches’ Ball. Join her to explore a variety of cultural movements found in the dance and meditative art forms found throughout the world. Workshop will be a mix of breathing techniques, as well as movement through sacred geometry, yoga, and a dash of belly dance. Join her as she facilitates a journey through stillness, movement and joy as expressed within the human spirit.
